Weight Tracker

I weigh Murphy and Scout every Sunday morning before breakfast. It takes 90 seconds and prevents surprises at the vet. Log your dog's weight, set a goal, and watch the trend. A flat line is good. A steep line in either direction needs attention.

How It Works

Calculation Principle

Weight trends tell the real story. A single weigh-in is just a snapshot — the slope of the trend line over 8-12 weeks reveals whether your dog is gaining, losing, or maintaining. This tool stores weight entries in your browser's localStorage, plots them on a time-series chart, and calculates statistics like total change, weekly rate, and goal progress.

How to Use

Enter your dog's name, date, and weight in kg or lbs. Add optional notes (vet visit, diet change, etc.). Set a goal weight if your dog needs to gain or lose. The chart updates automatically. Export all data as a text file for your vet or your own records.

Practical Tips

Weigh your dog at the same time of day — morning before breakfast is best. Use the same scale every time. Small fluctuations (±0.2 kg) are normal; focus on the 4-week trend. If your dog is losing more than 2% of body weight per week, increase food by 10%. If gaining more than 1% per week, reduce by 10%.
